Some new, some not so new FO's

This is the blanket for DGD with the never ending ruffle (my first try at one) and it's not even for some reason. Hmmm, the left side isn't as ruffly as the rest, I'm guessing I skipped an increase row. As frustrating as it is I've decided it's more important to send it and wrap her in love than to frog it and fix it.

Also done are two bibs, two wash cloths and a pair of mittens. I'm currently working on a hat to match the mittens. Alas, much to my dismay I find I still struggle with lace. I'll put a bit more effort into it and if success isn't happening then I'll settle for cables or something less trying than what I really want to make.

Next up is finishing the baby dress to send to my friend in Israel for their community center. Then a hat for DD in PA where they've already had snow! Who knows I might even take another stab at the lace sleeves of the Bella Cardigan from Knitty . . . but then, maybe it would get done faster if I just had the gal at the LYS do it!
Hope you all had a wonderful Veterans Day. To all you out there who have served our country, including several of my own children, and my FIL, I want to say that I'm proud of you!

Another FO for Granddaughter

Finishing a project gives me such a wonderful feeling I have no idea why I put things off so long. This is my first EZ Baby Surprise Jacket. I added ribbing onto the sleeves and then crocheted loops as button holes. The leggings are from the Tiny Bird pattern. The yarn is Sirdar Snuggly double knit in color #0329.

In this second photo you can see the buttons a bit better, they have a white background with the same color dots as the yarn has. You can also see the crocheted loops, the yarn isn't cut after each loop, it's just crocheted flat against the edge between them.

Next up, a hat that needs to be finished that I'd totally forgotten I'd started, and a pair of mitts to keep her little fingers warm!
Oh, and the last dreadful rows of the ruffle on the blanket. I may never be brave enough (or is that crazy enough) to knit another ruffle . . . surely not on a blanket!

Happy with finished snowsuit

It really turned out well, if I do say so myself. It's a bit big, but babies grow fast so I'm not at all upset about the size.

After completing this last night I began working on the last leg of the leggings, but I'm a bit frustrated with the way it's turning out. It seemed the first leg went much easier. Next I'll add cuffs to the Baby Surprise Jacket.

We had a wonderful time with dd in Southern California. We talked her into going to Disneyland on Halloween. She'd never been to Disney's California Adventure so it was fun to show her that park as well as some of the changes in Disneyland. The line for the submarines was still very long and I don't do lines well as it's extremely difficult for me to stand in one place for long. Traffic was horrendous all that day, it was pretty much the Tail Light Shuffle both going to Disneyland and going back to the hotel in North Hollywood. One good thing, the beds in the Super 8 were better than we've found in their hotels in other locations. The help at this one was not the typically friendly folks we've found at other ones though.

My tummy is hungry for a snack so I'm off to find something tasty!
