Sad News_Good News

Sad News:

On Friday, August 17, 2007 my wonderful sister Pam lost her battle with non-skin related Squamous Cell Carcinoma. She was 51, and fought a long hard battle with cancer. She is now free of pain, both physical and emotional. The world is the poorer for her passing as is our family. She will be remembered fondly for her strength, her love of family and her generosity. This picture was taken during our week together last year in Wisconsin.

Good News:

DD has arrived safely at her new place of residence in North Central Pennsylvania. She can tell you I was more than a little hesitant about her driving a 26' U-Haul truck and towing a trailer with a car on it, not to mention dealing with a St. Bernard and all her cats on the trip. But she isn't one to let little things stop her. So watch out PA, she's there and she'll make the best of it! She always does. Her trip was uneventful as far as problems go and that's a good thing!

In knitting news, I've been working on an EZ Baby Surprise Jacket of Sirdar Snuggly in white with flecks of the primary colors, red, blue, green and yellow. The sweater needs cuffs added to it and then just stitched up, and matching leggings are done except for one leg. I'll probably make a matching hat, but haven't chosen a pattern yet. Also still on the needles is the ruffle part of the baby blanket in Encore worsted. What ever possessed me to make a ruffle with a jillion stitches I'll never admit to (grin).

Shelly, I'm so sorry about your sister. I don't think there's a lot to say that doesn't sound trite, but my heart really went out to you when I read that.
